QuadH2O and HexH2O used as a SnotBot

Posted on April 16, 2016

It’s cool some of things our machines are used for, and some are pretty unusual too. The guys at Olin College of Engineering in Needham, Massachusetts, in association with the Whale Alliance have utilized both the QuadH2O and HexH2O waterproof drones to collect Whale snot no less!

Nicknamed the SnotBot the drone hovers over the whale as it exhales air from its blowhole. The drone collects the mucus and its analyzed by a bunch of clever people 🙂

Seeing our machines being used in any kind of nature research sure does make us feel proud!
